Hello Everyone!
My name is Jeffrey van Sluis, I am 24 years old and I am the President of ESN Groningen. I was born and raised in Groningen and chose to study International Relations and International Organizations at the RUG. After finishing my Bachelor’s, I started my Master’s in International Security and applied for my current position.
ESN is an international student network that is present in 41 different countries. It has bodies at the international, national and local level. ESN Groningen is one of the biggest sections in Europe and the largest internationally-oriented organisation in Groningen. Through our 150+ activities and two large ESN Introduction Weeks, we hope to foster mutual integration and an inclusive international environment in the city of Groningen. We try to create a home away from home for all students and enrich society through internationalisation.
The Hanze UAS and the council parties are key collaborators in these efforts, that is why we work together closely with them. We discuss important topics such as policy, represenation and housing. To ensure that we can create the most inclusive and diverse environment possible. In the future we hope to maintain this good relationship and increase the representation of Hanze Students in our organisation. ESN is open to all students, Dutch and international.

Mijn naam is Jeffrey van Sluis, ik ben 24 jaar oud en ik ben de voorzitter van ESN Groningen. Ik ben geboren en getogen in Groningen en heb ervoor gekozen om International Relations en International Organizations te studeren aan de RUG. Na het afronden van mijn bachelor ben ik begonnen aan mijn master International Security en heb ik gesolliciteerd naar mijn huidige functie.
ESN is een internationaal studentennetwerk dat aanwezig is in 41 verschillende landen. Het heeft organen op internationaal, nationaal en lokaal niveau. ESN Groningen is een van de grootste afdelingen in Europa en de grootste internationaal georiënteerde organisatie in Groningen. Door onze 150+ activiteiten en twee grote ESN Introductieweken, hopen wij bij te dragen aan wederzijdse integratie en een inclusieve internationale omgeving in de stad Groningen. We proberen een thuis ver van huis te creëren voor alle studenten en verrijken de samenleving door internationalisering.
De Hanzehogeschool Groningen en de raadsfracties zijn hierbij belangrijke samenwerkingspartners, daarom werken wij nauw met hen samen. We bespreken belangrijke onderwerpen zoals beleid, vertegenwoordiging en huisvesting. Zodat we een zo inclusief en divers mogelijke omgeving kunnen creëren. In de toekomst hopen we deze goede relatie te behouden en de vertegenwoordiging van Hanzestudenten in onze organisatie te vergroten. ESN staat open voor alle studenten, Nederlands en internationaal.
